Why Do We Celebrated Republic Day in India ?
Republic Day marks the celebration of the empowerment of Indian Citizens ; Republic Day has been celebrating every year since 26 January, 1950. On this day people of India had abolished the Government of India act ( 1935 ) & adopted Constitution of India the book of fundamental law for independent India. It has been celebrated as National Festival along with Independent Day and Gandhi Jayanti.
There is a significant history behind the making of Indian Constitution , many youths at the present day have no idea that how did our Constitution made , how our country runs because youths are too much addicted towards online games, Facebook & Instagram.
So, let’s have a brief look of story behind the making of Indian Constitution.
The story of making Indian Constitution started when some of Indian scholars thought that there should be a specific laws & rules to run our independent country.
Following this thought in 1946, 9 December there was the first meeting held regarding to make Constitution in the constitution hall (now the Central Hall of Parliament House) and decided to make Sachchidananda Sinha as temporary president .
At the 2nd meeting held on 11 December 1946; The Assembly appointed Rajendra Prasad as its permanent president, H. C. Mukherjee as its vice-chairman and B. N. Rau as constitutional legal adviser. There were initially 389 members in total, which declined to 299 after partition. Out of the 389 members, 292 were from government provinces, four from chief commissioner provinces and 93 from princely states.
After Independence, 22 July 1947 National flag adopted and on 29 August 1947 Drafting Committee appointed B. R. Ambedkar as its Chairman, who is known as the Father of Indian Constitution . He had studied the constitutions of about 60 countries.
The other six members of Drafting committee were Munshi, Muhammed Sadulla from Assam, Alladi Krishnaswamy Iyer, N. Gopalaswami Ayyangar, Khaitan and Mitter. To the purpose of making The Indan Constitution there were 11 meetings held .
The process of making Constitution took 2 years, 11 months and 18 days. On 26 November 1949 The Constitution of India was ready, passed and adopted by the assembly.
On 24 January 1950 last meeting of Constituent Assembly held. After many deliberations and some modifications, the 308 members of the Assembly ( Sarijini Naidu and were the only two female members )signed two hand-written copies of the document (one each in Hindi and English) on 24 January 1950. Two days later which was on 26 January 1950 Thursday, it came into effect throughout the whole nation. On that day, Dr. Rajendra Prasad’s began his first term of office as President of the Indian Union. To mark the date we celebrated the date as Republic Day .

Significance of The Constitution of India –
Bhāratīya Saṃvidhāna is the supreme law of India. The document lays down the framework that demarcates fundamental laws of states, law of formation of government, it’s activities, principles of management of Government procedure structure, powers and duties of government institutions and sets out fundamental rights, directive principles, and the duties of citizens.
How does Republic Day celebrated in India –
The first parade was held in 1950, and it has been held every year since.Every year on the 26th of January at Rajpath, New Delhi celebrate Republic Day.
The parade marches from the Rashtrapati Bhawan along the Rajpath, to India Gate and from there to Red Fort. It opens with the unfurling of the national flag by the President of India. This is followed by marching from several regiments of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, along with their bands. Tableaus from various states signifying their cultures are displayed. A beating retreat ceremony signifies the end of the parade.

Chief Minister of each state host the national flag at the capital ( राजधानी ), people irrespective of sex, colour, caste participate in many kinds of cultural program.
As like every year this year i.e 2022 ,26 January Wednesday we’ll also going to celebrate , but pitiful portion that this year for the threat of Onicron Virus there should be too much restrictions on celebrating Republic Day.
